let me colour one of her wonderful drawings as practice:

and this is the end result. I cannot take ANY credit for the design or line art, that was all little-juju, I simply coloured in the lines (just about....)

Not sure about my choice of colours now, I was looking at it for so long that my brain felt like it kind of.... melted. Any constructive criticism is welcomed! Especially colour advice... and I think i highlighted the frilly bit too much... bleh.

and i like the way you hilighted the frilly bit

it's quite a difficult thing to colour, being as all the shapes and lines are so random!! that's why i haven't done it yet XD but other than a few places where the colours bled over the lines just a tad, i think it's peeeerrrfect!!

Colours are so hard to choose! But more often than not they can make or break a picture... Pahaha yeah to be honest by the end I was all " I JUST DON'T CARE ANYMORE I'll submit it as it is! ERASING THINGS IS HARD!"

I like the idea of making super arty BABIES! I should try cell shading one day... but without thinking I always blend. ALWAYS!

colours are difficult!! :< like my new doodle.. i have no idea how to colour her.. >.< i usually just create a new layer and whack colours on it underneath the lineart till i find some i like

i know what you mean!! i start off all dedicated, and eventually it takes so friggin long that i just mess up the end by getting it out of the way as quick as possible! XD

cell shading is fun!! XD and much quicker

kinda like a cheats way of colouring! although i kinda like to include parts with proper shading and cell shading, so it's got a little more depth..

That's a good plan! I kind of do the colours and then piss around with hue and saturation/ colour balance until I find something I like.

Thanks to books hugo got me, I sometimes shade in black and white first then add basic colour over the top (which I find makes it easier, provided I do the shading right in the first place)
